When a crafter works with a new type of wood, it is very exciting what the results will be. Apart from the the drone note and the first toot, I had no fundamental idea what it would sound like. The Acacia timber is hard, comparable to some kinds of Eucalyptus, the results are heartwarming! This instrument has changed something in me as a musician. I never really got myself into didges tuned in A, apart from didges like Drone Wizard II , but this instrument out of Acacia wood just got me back again into A. This is not much more than a personal relation from me with the key of A, but a discovery that was well worth to share.
The wood just reflects all the technics of the player, if you are more passive player it sound a little lazy, but if you tease this instrument in what it wants from you.. Fast interval between the drone and first trumpet note. If you are trained on the singing technic around the drone, it sings with you. Back Pressure is perfect for such low key. The sound is bright and dynamic filled with the low to high frequenties. It’s not easy to get such straight logs from Acacia wood, as this tree bends a lot while growing. Not easy to work with the timber, but the result may be absolutely there. Very good instrument!
